SEVERAL LEE COUNTY RAILROAD CROSSINGS CLOSED THIS WEEK

LEE COUNTY, NC – March 19, 2024 – CSX Transportation, who provides traffic control and detour signage for railroad closures, has announced that it will close several railroad crossings in Chatham and Lee counties for maintenance this week.

The following crossings within Lee County will be impacted:

• S 188.27, a private crossing located just south of the Deep River
• S 188.53 SR 1002 Lower Moncure Road
• S 193.16 SR 1423 Farrell Road
• S 195.22 SR1419 Brickyard Road
• S 195.77 SR1415 Colon Road
• S 198.54 E Chisholm Street
• S 198.84 SR1002 Charlotte Avenue
• S 198.95 McIver Street/Wicker Street
• S 199.76 SR1107 Fields Drive
• S 200.27 SR1117 Garden Street
• S 203.29 Liberty Road
• S 205.06 Joe Matthews Road
• S 205.56 SR1144 Greenwood Road
• S 207.5 Hancock Crossing Road

No traffic will be allowed across the indicated crossings until the work is complete, which CSX anticipates lasting for 3-5 days.

Detour signs will be posted, and motorists should expect extended travel times and delays.
