CONVENIENCE FEE INCREASE EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2023

Lee County, NC — Lee County currently partners with a third-party vendor, known as Forte, that provides convenience payment systems via card transactions within multiple county departments. Due to increased fees created by major credit card brands, ACH networking fees, rising labor costs, and increased vendor costs, this third-party vendor is increasing their prices effective April 1, 2023.

Why is there an increase?
Third-party vendor fees increasing due to:
·         Major Credit Card Companies increasing their fees
·         ACH networking fee increase
·         Vendor cost increase

What are the associated costs?
Point of Sale and Web-transactions
·         Credit Card Convenience Fee (percent with minimum amount) 0.05% and $0.05
·         ETF Convenience Fee – Tiered $0.05
