To help keep the property tax rate as low as possible in Lee County, the tax office has built a product in an effort to engage the community.  Properties are sometimes improved without going through the building permit process and without notifying the tax office.  This causes two problems: inequity among taxpayers and inconsistency in establishing market values countywide.  Resolving these issues will allow Lee County to ensure equity among tax payments and assessments.
