Operation Look-See

• Provide accurate information regarding the whereabouts of registered sex offenders
• Encourage citizens to look at the online sex offender registry and see potential steps that can reduce the risk of encountering registered sex offenders
• Strictly enforce the Sex Offender Public Registration Process by taking legal action against sex offenders who fail to abide by the process
  
• Facilitate collaboration between the Lee County Sheriff's Office and the Division of Community Corrections (parole and probation officers) that pro-actively monitors sex offender registration
• To enlist the active cooperation of the public in locating missing sex offenders
• To keep the public informed of legal restrictions on the activities and place of residence of registered sex offenders
  

• Frequent cross-checking between the Lee County Sheriff's Office and local representatives of the Division of Community Corrections to validate the known addresses of sex offenders on probation or parole.
• Periodic visits by sheriff deputies to confirm that sexual offenders remain at the address at which they are registered.
• Criminal are sought against sexual offenders who have changed addresses and/or failed to properly notify the Sheriff's Office
• Publish photographs and information through the Lee County Sheriff's Office web site to notify the public of missing sexual offenders and inform them of how to provide leads in locating individuals who have not properly registered
