Girls Fastpitch Softball

Youth Softball and Baseball

The youth softball and baseball program emphasizes teaching the fundamentals, participation, having fun and good sportsmanship. A skills review session will be held for new players in each league. Each participant should wear comfortable clothing and shoes and bring a glove to perform skills such as catching, throwing, hitting, fielding and running. New players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration.

For a child just starting out in sports, these programs are instructional and teach the basic fundamentals of baseball. Emphasis is placed on fun, participation, sportsmanship and skill development. New players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. Team shirts will be provided before or on opening day.

NFL Punt, Pass, & Kick

This program will create a lively and engaging forum for all boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 15 to compete separately against their peers in punting, passing, and place kicking skills.
Birth Certificates are required to register.

Youth Pee Wee & Midget Football

The Lee County Parks and Recreation Youth Football program is designed to provide learning and growing experience for participants while they have fun. It stresses participation, sportsmanship, and skill development. Participants must be present at the time of registration to be weighed. New players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. A skill review session will be held for new players in each league. Each player should wear comfortable clothing and shoes to perform skills such as passing, catching and running. Complete football uniform is provided except shoes. Parents/guardians are required to sign a contract of responsibility for participant’s football equipment.

YOUTH BASKETBALL

These leagues promote the sport of basketball on an organized basis to both boys and girls. Emphasis is placed on skill development, sportsmanship, participation, and most importantly having fun. Practices will begin in early December and games begin in January. Co-ed teams begin practicing after Christmas and games will begin in February. New players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. A skills review session will be held for new participants in each league. Each participant should wear comfortable clothing and shoes to perform skills such as shooting, passing, dribbling and running. Team shirts will be provided before games or on opening day.

2-Ball Competition

A 2-player team plays this unique basketball skills game. Each team has one minute to score as many baskets as possible from any of the designated shooting spots identified on a half court.

Triple Threat Basketball Camp 2006

Basketball Camp (Triple Threat)

This program is a fast-paced weeklong day camp, which focuses on individual offensive skills instruction and is complemented by team play, competition and a world-class level of fun! The camp is designed to ignite and propel a player on his/her own journey to successfully reach their goals in the game and in life!

Youth Volleyball

The objective of the youth volleyball league is to provide enjoyment and instruction in the game of volleyball.Good sportsmanship and comradery is stressed.This program is a wonderful opportunity for beginners and advanced volleyball players. New players are required to bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration. A skills review session (try-outs) will be held for all new players in each league. Participants should dress in athletic clothing and tennis shoes so that they may perform skills such as passing, setting, and serving. Team shirts will be provided before games begin. School players are encouraged to register.

The adult fall softball program is specifically designed for those adults who cannot get enough softball. The league is open to anyone over the age of 18 that is interested in having fun, meeting people and enjoying the game of softball. Lee County Parks & Recreation’s adult basketball program is for anyone over the age of 18 interested in enjoying the sport of basketball. Sportsmanship, teamwork and having fun are stressed to all participants. All adults are encouraged to play. Registration packets will be available October 13th.

Athletic Field Information

Fields at American Legion, Dalrymple, Horton, Lions, Buchanan, Sloan and Temple Parks are available for rent on a first come, first serve basis. Fields must be reserved at least one week prior to the day desired, and payment received 24 hours in advance. Lee County Parks and Recreation maintains the option to use the fields year round for the department-sponsored programs. We have reduced fees for civic groups and churches. For availability and rental information, contact the Parks and Recreation office 775-2107 ext 502.

Gymnasiums & Basketball Courts Information

The Bob E. Hales Center (Old Armory), Wicker Gym may be rented by contacting the Lee County Parks and Recreation office 24 hours in advance. All fees must be paid by 3:00 p.m. prior to the day of rental. Weekend and Monday rental fees must be paid before 3:00 p.m. Friday. Gyms will be available only for time specified. Rental fees are non-refundable. We have reduced fees for civic groups and churches. For availability and rental information, contact Parks and Recreation.
Lee County School Gymnasiums (except Lee Senior and Southern Lee) may be reserved through the Parks and Recreation office. School gyms must be reserved and payment received two weeks prior to the day of rental.  For availability and rental information, contact the Parks and Recreation office.

RECREATIONAL & COMPETITIVE GYMNASTICS

Classes are offered for girls and boys, toddlers through high school. Philosophy of the program is to introduce the sport of gymnastics in a fun learning environment. A GYMNASTICS SCHEDULE WILL BE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU REGISTER.
