The Respite Referral program was developed to help caregivers find home care workers to assist them in caring for individuals in the home.  The Enrichment Center keeps a listing of respite care workers and housekeepers that are interested in working in a home environment.  The family provides needed information to compile a list of workers that meets their needs.  The list of workers names and telephone numbers are then given to the family along with the booklet “Help for the Caregiver”-A Guide for Hiring Home Care Workers.  This booklet walks the family through the process of hiring the worker.  The family intervies, hires and pays the home care worker privately.  This is a referral program only.  The family assumes responsibility for interviewing, asking for references and doing background checks on the workers.  The staff does not recommend or send any worker to the home.  This program is designed to like someone who wants to work in the home to someone who needs caregiving help in the home.  For more information about the Respite Referral program, contact Laurie Draughn at 919-776-0501 x 213 or via email at ldraughn@leecountync.com.
