PURPOSE: To administer programs under the Community Services Block Grant in the counties of Johnston and Lee and to administer other programs from any source as approved by the Board of Directors. To work with the poor, public sector and private sector to seek out, identify, and eliminate the causes of poverty, and to make the entire community more responsive to the needs and interests of the poor by mobilizing available resources and bringing about a greater institutional sensitivity.
